This project aims to explore the role of domestic artwork. Art work that becomes a part of our homes and has a place on your wall, in your life.
The depth of the project explores the fabric of everyday events questioning the subtlety and sensitivity of what we experience through our senses, debating the idea of how significant a simple act can be in relation to our unfolding futures.
The work is heavily inspired by certain philosophers and their breakdown of the very faculties that make up our cognition, proving an ever closer connection with the natural world, and its appearances and aesthetic.
The circular boundary has its obvious symbolic representations but if you look closer you may begin to see how order, harmony and colour combination are contained within limits, and to be concluded within limits, we can find the very things that make up all we experience, and where we can also find or generate our idea of freedom.
The boundary allows for exploration. The boundary is what allows us the idea of freedom and exploration to be conceived. Without limits we have no constraint and without these notions we cannot explore its counter part.
Like every piece of art, each one is wholly the same and entirely different. And this context allows the series to unravel, attempting to make something original, that can be yours, hopefully lasting, and hopefully meaningful.
